Teatr Syrena was founded in 1945 in Lodz by a satirist Jerzy Jurandot. In 1948 the theatre moved to Warsaw, to a venue that used to be riding school at 3 Litewska Street.
Above the gate to the theatre yard you can still see a head of a horse. Top Polish artists including Adolf Dymsza and Irena Kwiatkowska have worked for the theatre. The director of Teatr Syrena, Jacek Mikołajczyk transformed Teatr Syrena into a modern music theatre for the large audience. Apart from plays for adults Teatr Syrena also stages fairy tales for children and organizes popular jazz music concerts and other concerts within a Syrena Music programme. At the venue you can find Bistro Syrena open during shows and serving lunches as well. After arranging parents can leave their children with a nanny during an evening play and groups can book a backstage trip of a theatre.
Our nannies, guides and our box office workers speak English.
