The first Polish adaptation of the famous West End and Broadway hit. The musical tells the story of the six wives of Henry VIII, the king of England. In “SIX”, they are presented as pop music divas, and the play itself resembles a music concert – the king’s partners take turns singing their own stories. It’s a prime example of how “history” is transformed into “herstory”, which means giving back voice to women. The musical inspiration for “SIX” comes from the songs of such artists as Beyoncé, Adele or Alicia Keys.
The musical was created by a group of Cambridge University students and debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to rave reviews, quickly finding its way to the stages in London and New York City. The American version of the show received two Tony awards – the musical equivalent of the Academy Award – in the categories “Best music” and “Best costumes”. In the last few years, next to “Hamilton”, “SIX” has become one of the hottest titles in the musical world, with its original songs having been streamed million times on Spotify and other streaming services.
Attention! Strong strobe lights are used in the show.
