Do your children know whose voices Shrek and the Little Mermaid speak with? Do they enjoy listening to audiobooks and dream of one day reading and recording their favorite novel? Or perhaps they want to see from the inside how the fascinating world of dubbing works? At the Syrena Theatre, it’s possible! We invite you to workshops during which participants will learn where the voice comes from, how to modulate it, and how to play with it creatively.
The workshops received the 2021 Słoneczniki Award in the CzasDzieci.pl poll, which recognizes the most developmental initiatives for children.
Basic information:
- The workshops take place in groups of up to 10 participants in the Syrena Theatre’s recording studio.
- They are open to children and teens aged 10 and older, as well as younger children (8–9 years old) who can read fluently.
- The workshops are intended both for those encountering dubbing for the first time and for those who want to expand their skills.
- Participants will work on dubbing a cartoon and a song, reading and recording an audiobook, and they will also record casting material.
- Everyone will have the opportunity to dub both a human and an animated character.
- Participants will practice proper breathing and diction.
- The workshop includes a meeting with a special guest – a voice actor collaborating with the Syrena Theatre.
- At the end of the workshop, each group will watch the dubbed film they worked on and receive a selection of materials created during the classes.
The management of the Syrena Theatre reserves the right to change the workshop instructors.
