For most of us, voiceover work is related mostly with characters from foreign films and animation for children speaking in Polish. But how does it happen? Do actors doing voiceover simply read lines written down on paper, or is the entire process a bit more complicated and requires a bit more work? How to create a role, using just your voice, without relying on gestures and face expressions? Where does our voice come from, how can we modulate it and play with it? All of this will be revealed to participants of our workshop. Perhaps there will be an undiscovered talent among them, endowed with a characteristic voice and excellent diction? The doors to professional voiceover work are now open!

Workshop program and basic information:

  • Workshops are held in groups of up to 10 people in the recording studio the Syrena Theatre
  • The workshop is dedicated for adults (18 years old and above), we organise dubbing workshops for children and teenagers during the summer
  • The workshops are addressed to people who encounter dubbing for the first time as well as to those who want to continue developing their skills, and have fun with it
  • Participants will work on creating voice-over recordings of animations and films, and record a fragment of an audiobook. Everyone will have the opportunity to dub a human and animated character. We will also practice proper breathing techniques and diction, which are essential skills for voiceover work
  • The workshop will end with a screening of a dubbed film the group had work on, and every participant will receive a demo recording which can be used when applying for professional voiceover casting
